EST designs and manufactures spline gauges for involute, serration and straight sided spline inspection and measurement requirements. We offer a wide variety of spline gages including:
- Go/No Go Functional Spline Gages
- Helical plug and ring gages
- Tooth thickness/space width variable gages
- Measurement over/under balls (MOB or MUB) gages
- Dimension over/under pins (DOP or DUP) gages
- Measurement over/under wires (MOW/MUW) gages
- Setting masters
- Tapered masters
- Specialty gages to check other spline-related features.
All EST spline gages are engineered to meet your specific requirements or per spline standards. Standards include ANSI, DIN, ISO, GB, JIS and more.
EST also designs and manufactures master gears for gear measurement. All spline gauges and master gears are supplied with ISO certified inspection certificates and gear measuring machine (GMM) reports. We also offer ISO-17025 certified inspection reports from our certified lab, upon request.
Spline Gages
EST offers both plug (internal spline) and ring (external spline) gages for involute, serration and straight-sided splines. We also offer helical plug and ring gages.
EST offers 4 different materials for gages:
Most gage manufacturers use steel ranging from 60-62 HRC. EST’s standard tool steel is a proprietary blend featuring hardness of 60-65 HRC, which means our gages stand up to wear, resulting in longer tool life. We also offer an optional cryogenic (chemical hardening) treatment, which can increase hardness on our standard gages up to 66-67 HRC.
Additionally, we offer gages with a carbide core, which increases hardness to over 70 HRC. Contact us today to discuss which material is best for your needs.
Variable Gages
Variable Gages are specialty gages used to measure various attributes of the spline including dimension over/under balls (DOB), measurement over/under pins (MOP), circular space width (CSW) and circular tooth thickness (CTT). Variable gages are used with a setting master plug or ring, and are available in tabletop and handheld models and come standard with a dial indicator. Optional upgraded digital and Bluetooth capable indicators are also available.
Master Gears
Master gears are used as a reference standard during the manufacturing process to verify ideal gear contact pattern and tooth thickness. Master gears are test gears most often used in double and single flank gear roll inspection systems, honing machines and gear measuring systems. EST provides different types of master gears custom engineered for our customer’s specific machine and application.
